Synopsis: In the year 1755, in the midst of Enlightenment Spain, a young woman from a powerful family is sent to an isolated cloistered monastery to avoid a family scandal. Once there, she discovers that several nuns are suffering from a strange and unsettling blood disease. An unconventional Franciscan friar, Father Rubís, investigates these events using alchemical methods that clash head-on with the prevailing scientific thinking of the Age of Enlightenment. The plot delves into the myth of vampirism to explore the conflict between reason and faith, religious fanaticism, and the social reality of the women of the time, often subjected to ecclesiastical power against their will.
Cast: The cast includes Pauline Brisy, Victoria Cerrada, Tania Santana, Andrea López, Lorea Intxausti and María Marnez. It also features notable actors such as Javier Botet, Diego Anido, Juanjo Puigcorbé, María Galiana, Teresa del Olmo, Enrique Martínez and Elena Villalba.
Producer: The film is a production by El Ojo Mecánico and La Charito Films, in co-production with the Belgian company Okayss.
