Complex municipal funerary from the mid-19th century, in a romantic neoclassical style.
Located on the west bank of the Cardener River, in the Farreres-Suanya-Pirelli area, connected to the center by the Pont Nou.
Typology/Elements
With a trapezoidal plan, the cemetery is made up of two clearly differentiated parts. The niche area, composed of rectangular volumes arranged parallelly in a north-south direction; and the chapel and pantheon area, which responds to a romantic-style design where, after passing through the large entrance portico, the different areas are distributed around a central spine-like axis. Inside the pantheon enclosure, we find chapels and sculptural works of great beauty, especially in the Modernist and Neo-Gothic styles.
