Arc of Carrer d'en Botí

Botí Arch is one of the few examples, along with Balç Street, of the original urban layout of Manresa (15th-century Gothic/traditional style). This passage connected two of the ring streets that went around Puigmercadal and ran from the gates of the Carme wall to the gate of Saint Dominic.

Currently, many of the buildings in the area date from the second half of the 19th century and have replaced the original medieval and modern ones. An important part of the setting is the paving with squared flat stones, characteristic until some time ago of the oldest streets in Manresa.

Tipology/Elements

Here the same arches that support part of the building over Carrer d'en Botí are highlighted, as well as the double window of P1 with a slender smooth column that supports two semicircular arches made from a single stone piece each. Although the building had been plastered, the masonry above the arches and that of P1 is quite regular, especially the voussoirs of the arch
Originally this space served a residential function (homes) but it is currently unused.
